Martin is best known for his role in Nottingham Forest’s golden era under Brian Clough, where they won the old First Division title, back-to-back European Cups, and two League Cups.
He also had a distinguished playing career with Norwich, Manchester City, Notts County, and Northern Ireland, earning 64 caps. Martin went on to become a successful manager, leading Leicester to two League Cups and Celtic to three Scottish League titles and Scottish Cups, before coaching at Norwich, Aston Villa, Sunderland, and Forest, as well as the Republic of Ireland.
